Falkner Eagles (Falkner, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Thrasher Rebels (Booneville, MS), 76-63 in a league bout.

With the win, Falkner upgrades its record to 14-8 on the season. The Eagles travel to Wheeler (Wheeler, MS) to play the Eagles in a 1A Region 1 bout on Friday, January 20. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 10-7. Wheeler won 76-40 in their recent league bout against Jumpertown (Booneville, MS)

Next up, the Rebels play the Biggersville Lions (Corinth, MS) in a 1A Region 1 bout, on Friday, January 20. Thrasher will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 13-1 record after their 50-44 non-league win over Holly Springs (Holly Springs, MS).
