With the win, Zavalla upgrades its record to 4-16 on the season. The Eagles travel to Spurger (Spurger, TX) to clash with the Pirates in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout on Friday, January 20. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 14-10. Spurger won 74-35 in their recent league bout against Chester (Chester, TX)

Next up, the Hornets clash with the Brookeland Wildcats (Brookeland, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 bout, on Friday, January 20. Goodrich will attempt to upgrade on its 1-20 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 19-4 record after their 83-32 league win over High Island (High Island, TX).
