With the win, Groesbeck upgrades its record to 13-11 on the season. The Goats host Elkhart (Elkhart, TX) to clash with the Elks in a 3A Region III District 20 bout on Friday, January 20. The Elks go into the bout with a record of 7-19. Elkhart lost 48-40 in their recent league bout against Buffalo (Buffalo, TX)

Next up, the Black Cats clash with the Franklin Lions (Franklin, TX) in a 3A Region III District 20 bout, on Friday, January 20. Mexia will attempt to upgrade on its 20-6 season record.
