Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks (Hammond, IN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Heritage Christian Defenders (Dyer, IN), 66-64 in a league bout.

With the win, Hammond Academy of Science & Tech upgrades its record to 3-7 on the season. The Hawks travel to La Lumiere Blue (La Porte, IN) to clash with the Lakers in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 19. The Lakers go into the bout with a record of 6-7. La Lumiere Blue lost 48-43 in their recent non-league bout against 21st Century Charter (Gary, IN)

Next up, the Defenders clash with the Hammond Baptist Swordsmen (Schererville, IN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Heritage Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Swordsmen go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 66-37 non-league win over Heritage Christian (Dyer, IN).
