In Tuesday's non-league match, the visiting Monroe City Panthers basketball team scored a tight 42-41 triumph over the Hannibal Pirates.
In their next game, the Panthers meet the Van-Far Indians (Vandalia, MO) in a non-league match, on Thursday, January 19. Monroe City will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Indians enter the match with a 7-7 record after their 49-43 non-league win over Clark County (Kahoka, MO).
With the defeat, Hannibal moves to 2-6 on the year. The Pirates host Kirksville (Kirksville, MO) to meet the Tigers in a North Central Missouri match on Friday, January 27. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 6-4.
