The Hopatcong Chiefs basketball team (Hopatcong, NJ), was overwhelmed 51-21 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Newton Braves (Newton, NJ)
The Braves now possess a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jefferson Township for a Northwest Jersey - Freedom battle on Thursday, January 19. Newton will confront a Falcons team coming off a 59-45 league win over Lenape Valley (Stanhope, NJ). The Falcons record now stands at 9-2.
The Chiefs (0-10) will now prepare for their battle against Hackettstown (Hackettstown, NJ). The Tigers come into the non-league battle with a 7-2 record. In their last battle, Hackettstown was overwhelmed by Ewing (Trenton, NJ), 74-46, in a non-league battle.
