The Walker Valley Mustangs basketball team (Cleveland, TN), was nudged 77-70 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting McMinn County Cherokees (Athens, TN)
The Cherokees now possess a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ooltewah for a 4A District 5 battle on Friday, January 20. McMinn County will confront a Owls team coming off a 66-37 league loss to Rhea County (Evensville, TN). The Owls record now stands at 0-12.
The Mustangs (12-7) will now prepare for their battle against Red Bank (Chattanooga, TN). The Lions come into the non-league battle with a 9-13 record. In their last battle, Red Bank was nudged by Chattanooga Central (Harrison, TN), 58-55, in a league battle.
