Newberry Bulldogs (Newberry, SC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Mid-Carolina Rebels (Prosperity, SC), 62-52 in a league bout.

With the win, Newberry upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Fairfield Central (Winnsboro, SC) to clash with the Griffins in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 18. The Griffins go into the bout with a record of 1-15. Fairfield Central lost 77-44 in their recent league bout against Columbia (Columbia, SC)

Next up, the Rebels clash with the Abbeville Panthers (Abbeville, SC) in a AA Region 2 bout, on Friday, January 20. Mid-Carolina will attempt to upgrade on its 7-12 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 7-3 record after their 96-44 league win over Ninety Six (Ninety Six, SC).
