In Tuesday's league match, the host New Castle Hurricanes basketball team scored a tight 54-47 triumph over the Seneca Valley Raiders.
In their next game, the Hurricanes meet the South Allegheny Gladiators (McKeesport, PA) in a non-league match, on Saturday, January 21. New Castle will attempt to better on its 12-2 season record. The Gladiators enter the match with a 13-0 record after their 59-46 league win over East Allegheny (North Versailles, PA).
With the defeat, Seneca Valley moves to 6-9 on the year. The Raiders travel to Butler (Butler, PA) to meet the Golden Tornado in a WPIAL 6A 1 match on Friday, January 27. The Golden Tornado enter the match with a record of 12-3.
