The Poplarville Hornets basketball team (Poplarville, MS), was overwhelmed 73-26 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS)
The Bobcats now possess a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Purvis for a 4A Region 7 battle on Friday, January 20. Sumrall will confront a Tornadoes team coming off a 64-32 league loss to Forrest County Agricultural (Brooklyn, MS). The Tornadoes record now stands at 10-8.
The Hornets (0-10) will now prepare for their battle against Lawrence County (Monticello, MS). The Cougars come into the 4A Region 7 battle with a 13-7 record. In their last battle, Lawrence County trounced Columbia (Columbia, MS), 61-44, in a league battle.
