Beacon Bulldogs (Beacon, NY) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Cornwall Central Dragons (New Windsor, NY), 44-37 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Beacon upgrades its record to 7-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Port Jervis (Port Jervis, NY) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 19. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 1-5. Port Jervis lost 44-28 in their recent league bout against Monticello (Monticello, NY)

Next up, the Dragons play the Goshen Central Gladiators (Goshen, NY) in a Section 9 Orange County III bout, on Thursday, January 19. Cornwall Central will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Gladiators come into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 38-31 league win over Minisink Valley (Slate Hill, NY).
