North Polk Comets (Alleman, IA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Carroll Tigers (Carroll, IA), 59-41 in a league bout.

With the win, North Polk upgrades its record to 12-1 on the season. The Comets host Gilbert (Gilbert, IA) to play the Tigers in a Raccoon River bout on Friday, January 20. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 7-7. Gilbert lost 47-39 in their recent league bout against A-D-M (Adel, IA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Harlan Cyclones (Harlan, IA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 19. Carroll will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record. The Cyclones go into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 69-61 league loss to Kuemper (Carroll, IA).
