Chariton Chargers (Chariton, IA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Centerville Big Reds/Redettes (Centerville, IA), 47-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Chariton upgrades its record to 6-6 on the season. The Chargers travel to Knoxville (Knoxville, IA) to play the Panthers in a South Central bout on Saturday, January 21. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 10-4. Knoxville won 62-54 in their recent non-league bout against Oskaloosa (Oskaloosa, IA)

Next up, the Big Reds/Redettes play the Albia Blue Demons (Albia, IA) in a South Central bout, on Friday, January 20. Centerville will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Blue Demons go into the bout with a 6-9 record after their 62-32 league loss to Clarke (Osceola, IA).
