The Greeneville Green Devils (Greeneville, TN) basketball nipped the host Cocke County Fighting Cocks (Newport, TN), 64-60 in Tuesday's league test.
The Green Devils (16-5) will now prepare for their test against Claiborne (New Tazewell, TN). The Bulldogs go into the 3A District 2 test with a 7-10 record.
The Fighting Cocks now own a 11-8 record. They play next when they travel to Robbinsville for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 18. Cocke County will encounter a Black Knights squad coming off a 48-41 non-league loss to Highlands (Highlands, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 9-5.
