Knoxville Panthers (Knoxville, IA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Davis County Mustangs (Bloomfield, IA), 54-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Knoxville upgrades its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Oskaloosa (Oskaloosa, IA) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 19. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 8-5. Oskaloosa won 53-31 in their recent non-league bout against Washington (Cedar Rapids, IA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Cardinal Comets (Eldon, IA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Davis County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-10 season record. The Comets come into the bout with a 0-12 record after their 74-26 non-league loss to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (Eddyville, IA).
