Leroy Bears (Leroy, AL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Fruitdale Pirates (Fruitdale, AL), 57-40 in a league bout.
With the win, Leroy upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Bears travel to Citronelle (Citronelle, AL) to clash with the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 19. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 0-6. Citronelle lost 57-10 in their recent league bout against St. Paul's Episcopal (Mobile, AL)
Next up, the Pirates clash with the McIntosh Demons (McIntosh, AL) in a 1A Area 1 bout, on Friday, January 20. Fruitdale will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Demons go into the bout with a 3-7 record after their 58-22 non-league loss to Jackson (Jackson, AL).
