Virginia High School Basketball - Gate City thwarts Union

The Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) basketball knocked off the visiting Union Bears (Appalachia, VA), 54-42 in Tuesday's league test.
The Blue Devils (10-2) will now prepare for their test against Abingdon (Abingdon, VA). The Falcons go into the Mountain test with a 3-12 record. In their last test, Abingdon went down by Ridgeview (Clintwood, VA), 62-47, in a league test.
The Bears now own a 8-6 record. They play next when they host Lee for a Mountain test on Friday, January 20. Union will encounter a Generals squad coming off a 66-16 league loss to Gate City (Gate City, VA). The Generals record now stands at 0-9.
