The Lamar Raiders basketball team (Meridian, MS), dropped 60-49 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS)
The Cougars now sport a 22-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Park Place Christian Academy for a MAIS 5A District 2 battle on Friday, January 20. Simpson Academy will battle a Crusaders team coming off a 57-14 league loss to Winston Academy (Louisville, MS). The Crusaders record now stands at 0-6.
The Raiders (3-9) will now prepare for their battle against East Rankin Academy (Pelahatchie, MS). The Patriots come into the MAIS 5A District 2 battle with a 15-12 record. In their last battle, East Rankin Academy dropped by Leake Academy (Madden, MS), 45-38, in a league battle.
