The Loop Longhorns basketball team (Loop, TX), was overwhelmed 58-24 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Wellman-Union Wildcats (Wellman, TX)
The Wildcats now possess a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Grady for a 1A Region I District 8 battle on Friday, January 20. Wellman-Union will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 51-24 league loss to Sands (Ackerly, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 10-7.
The Longhorns (5-13) will now prepare for their battle against Klondike (Lamesa, TX). The Cougars come into the 1A Region I District 8 battle with a 14-3 record. In their last battle, Klondike trounced Dawson (Welch, TX), 86-6, in a league battle.
