With the win, New York Mills upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Eagles host Pillager (Pillager, MN) to play the Huskies in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 19. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 4-4.

Next up, the Pirates play the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines (Wadena, MN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Verndale will attempt to upgrade on its 2-9 season record. The Wolverines go into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 50-37 non-league win over Sebeka (Sebeka, MN).
