Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host North Mesquite Stallions (Mesquite, TX), 60-29 in a league bout.

With the victory, Poteet upgrades its record to 17-7 on the campaign. The Pirates host West Mesquite (Mesquite, TX) to play the Wranglers in a 5A Region II District 12 bout on Friday, January 20. The Wranglers come into the bout with a record of 14-13. West Mesquite won 47-13 in their recent league bout against Spruce (Dallas, TX)

Next up, the Stallions play the Seagoville Dragons (Dallas, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 bout, on Friday, January 20. North Mesquite will attempt to upgrade on its 11-16 season record. The Dragons come into the bout with a 8-8 record after their 59-29 league win over Samuell (Dallas, TX).
