Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars (Zumbrota, MN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs (Elgin, MN), 48-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Zumbrota-Mazeppa upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Cougars travel to Chatfield (Chatfield, MN) to clash with the Gophers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Gophers go into the bout with a record of 11-5. Chatfield won 71-67 in their recent non-league bout against Fillmore Central (Harmony, MN)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the La Crescent Lancers (La Crescent, MN) in a AA Section 1 bout, on Thursday, January 19. Plainview-Elgin-Millville will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Lancers go into the bout with a 10-1 record after their 66-13 non-league win over Wabasha-Kellogg (Wabasha, MN).
