North Carolina High School Basketball - River Mill can't hold off Southern Wake Academy

The Southern Wake Academy Lions basketball team scored 29 points and restricted the host River Mill Jaguars to 28 in the Lions league victory on Tuesday.

The Lions now sport a 2-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Clover Garden School for a 1A Conference 13 bout on Friday, January 20. Southern Wake Academy will play a Grizzlies squad coming off a 66-32 league win over Woods Charter (Chapel Hill, NC). The Grizzlies record now stands at 14-5.

Next up, the Jaguars play the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers (Yanceyville, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 18. River Mill will attempt to upgrade on its 0-13 season record. The Buccaneers go into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 64-17 league win over Jordan-Matthews (Siler City, NC).
