Virginia High School Basketball - Wakefield nips Yorktown

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Wakefield Warriors (Arlington, VA) and the visiting Yorktown Patriots (Arlington, VA), saw Wakefield's basketball squad hold off Yorktown by a tally of 44-43.
With the victory, Wakefield improves its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Langley (McLean, VA) to play the Saxons in a District 2 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Saxons come into the challenge with a record of 12-3. Langley won 41-27 in their recent league challenge against George C. Marshall (Falls Church, VA)
Next up, the Patriots play the Washington-Liberty Generals (Arlington, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Yorktown will attempt to improve on its 2-12 season record. The Generals come into the challenge with a 6-11 record after their 50-39 league win over Herndon (Herndon, VA).
