Match Summary
With just 11 Lady Lions suited up, our final game began with a maddening and ridiculous call: a (non-existent) passback from Pilar to Ava in the area (yeah, Coach Nick was incredulous) that led to their PK attempt with less than 3 m. gone. It got by Ava and they were quickly up by one. For the rest of the half, Ava Rose and Za’Nyah both had good chances on shots that their keeper contained. But with 17 m. to go in the first, Ava Rose’s corner floated on a beeline to Audrey, and she redirected it to No. 21 in the box at the right. Juliana’s goal got us even for the half. In the 51st m., from near their endline, Player of the Game Ava Rose sent a serious cross astride the box that was begging for friendly footwear, but none materialized and an excellent chance was lost. When they got the go-ahead with 19 m. left, we scrambled to get its match. Ava gamely came off her line 4 m. later to nicely shut down their promising 1-v-1 attempt to keep us down 1, but our next goal never materialized.
