The Cherryville Ironmen basketball team scored 47 points and held the visiting East Gaston Warriors to 39 in the Ironmen non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Ironmen now sport a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Thomas Jefferson for a non-league contest on Friday, January 20. Cherryville will battle a Gryphons team coming off a 48-44 non-league win over Burns (Lawndale, NC). The Gryphons record now stands at 12-1.

The Warriors (2-10) will now prepare for their contest against Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC). The Rams enter the non-league contest with a 4-9 record. In their last contest, Highland Tech was defeated by Bradford Prep (Charlotte, NC), 56-53, in a non-league contest.
