The Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC), 53-35 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Spartans (8-8) will now prepare for their test against Weddington (Matthews, NC). The Warriors go into the non-league test with a 8-4 record. In their last test, Weddington went down by Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC), 53-29, in a non-league test.

The Cavaliers now own a 7-7 record. They play next when they host Piedmont for a non-league test on Friday, January 20. Cuthbertson will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 68-40 non-league loss to Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 1-9.
