Espanola Valley Sundevils (Espanola, NM) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes (Pojoaque, NM), 58-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Espanola Valley upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Sundevils host Moriarty (Moriarty, NM) to play the Pintos in a non-league bout on Friday, January 20. The Pintos go into the bout with a record of 1-6. Moriarty lost 86-44 in their recent non-league bout against Los Alamos (Los Alamos, NM)

Next up, the Elks/Elkettes play the Taos Tigers (Taos, NM) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Pojoaque Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 9-2 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 37-32 non-league loss to Pecos (Pecos, NM).
