The Giles Spartans basketball team (Pearisburg, VA), was overwhelmed 59-28 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA)
The Maroons now possess a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Auburn for a non-league battle on Friday, January 20. George Wythe will confront a Eagles team coming off a 47-19 non-league win over Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 9-5.
The Spartans (4-6) will now prepare for their battle against Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Blue Devils come into the non-league battle with a 1-7 record. In their last battle, Grayson County was overwhelmed by Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA), 40-26, in a non-league battle.
