Brewer Bears (Fort Worth, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Granbury Pirates (Granbury, TX), 41-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Brewer upgrades its record to 21-5 on the season. The Bears host Rider (Wichita Falls, TX) to play the Raiders in a 5A Region I District 5 bout on Friday, January 19. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 7-16. Rider lost 56-51 in their recent league bout against Aledo (Aledo, TX)

Next up, the Pirates play the Azle Hornets (Azle, TX) in a 5A Region I District 5 bout, on Friday, January 19. Granbury will attempt to upgrade on its 12-8 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 4-18 record after their 56-39 league loss to Brewer (Fort Worth, TX).
