San Miguel Vipers (Tucson, AZ) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Catalina Trojans (Tucson, AZ), 56-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, San Miguel upgrades its record to 1-12 on the campaign. The Vipers travel to Thatcher (Thatcher, AZ) to play the Eagles in a 3A South bout on Thursday, January 18. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 11-6. Thatcher lost 63-62 in their recent league bout against Tanque Verde (Tucson, AZ)

Next up, the Trojans play the Safford Bulldogs (Safford, AZ) in a 3A South bout, on Saturday, January 20. Catalina will attempt to upgrade on its 1-13 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 14-4 record after their 75-67 league win over Empire (Tucson, AZ).
