Huntsville Hornets (Huntsville, TX) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Dayton Broncos (Dayton, TX), 64-57 in a league bout.

With the victory, Huntsville upgrades its record to 9-10 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Porter (Porter, TX) to play the Spartans in a 5A Region II District 16 bout on Friday, January 19. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 12-12. Porter lost 49-42 in their recent league bout against Nacogdoches (Nacogdoches, TX)

Next up, the Broncos play the Kingwood Park Panthers (Kingwood, TX) in a 5A Region II District 16 bout, on Friday, January 19. Dayton will attempt to upgrade on its 15-9 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 13-12 record after their 37-34 league loss to Lufkin (Lufkin, TX).
