The Perquimans Pirates basketball team scored 51 points and restricted the visiting Gates County Red Barons to 47 in the Pirates league victory on Wednesday.

The Pirates now sport a 4-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Martin County for a 1A Four Rivers contest on Friday, January 19. Perquimans will battle a Knights team coming off a 70-21 league win over North East Carolina Prep (Tarboro, NC). The Knights record now stands at 9-6.

The Red Barons (2-10) will now prepare for their contest against Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech (Elizabeth City, NC). The Griffins come into the non-league contest with a 0-14 record. In their last contest, Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech was nudged by Currituck County (Barco, NC), 63-19, in a non-league contest.
