Herkimer Magicians (Herkimer, NY) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Hamilton Emerald Knights (Hamilton, NY), 72-60 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Herkimer upgrades its record to 8-3 on the campaign. The Magicians host Little Falls (Little Falls, NY) to play the Mounties in a Section 3 Center State I bout on Friday, January 19. The Mounties come into the bout with a record of 7-2. Little Falls lost 60-50 in their recent league bout against Clinton (Clinton, NY)

Next up, the Emerald Knights play the Cooperstown Hawkeyes (Cooperstown, NY) in a Section 3 Center State III bout, on Friday, January 19. Hamilton will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Hawkeyes come into the bout with a 8-6 record after their 79-71 non-league win over Sauquoit Valley (Sauquoit, NY).
