Hudson Hornets (Lufkin, TX) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Rusk Eagles (Rusk, TX), 65-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hudson upgrades its record to 21-4 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Palestine (Palestine, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 4A Region III District 18 bout on Friday, January 19. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 12-6. Palestine won 69-53 in their recent league bout against Rusk (Rusk, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Bullard Panthers (Bullard, TX) in a 4A Region III District 18 bout, on Friday, January 19. Rusk will attempt to upgrade on its 3-21 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 17-9 record after their 71-51 league win over Madisonville (Madisonville, TX).
