Rutland Hurricanes (Macon, GA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Jordan Red Jackets (Columbus, GA), 71-67 in a league bout.

With the win, Rutland upgrades its record to 9-7 on the season. The Hurricanes travel to Northeast (Macon, GA) to play the Raiders in a AA Region 2 bout on Friday, January 19. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 2-15. Northeast lost 49-48 in their recent non-league challenge against Westside (Macon, GA)

Next up, the Red Jackets confront the Kendrick Cherokees (Columbus, GA) in a AA Region 2 challenge, on Friday, January 19. Jordan will attempt to improve on its 2-14 season record. The Cherokees come into the challenge with a 3-14 record after their 52-42 league loss to Rutland (Macon, GA).
