Wells Pirates (Wells, TX) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Kennard Tigers (Kennard, TX), 104-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Wells upgrades its record to 11-11 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Apple Springs (Apple Springs, TX) to play the Eagles in a 1A Region IV District 27 bout on Friday, January 19. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 10-7. Apple Springs lost 62-58 in their recent league bout against Martinsville (Martinsville, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Laneville Yellowjackets (Laneville, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 27 bout, on Friday, January 19. Kennard will attempt to upgrade on its 6-17 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a 15-12 record after their 74-41 league win over Neches (Neches, TX).
