Seagoville Dragons (Dallas, TX) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Samuell Spartans (Dallas, TX), 37-34 in a league bout.

With the victory, Seagoville upgrades its record to 18-6 on the campaign. The Dragons host North Mesquite (Mesquite, TX) to play the Stallions in a 5A Region II District 12 bout on Friday, January 19. The Stallions come into the bout with a record of 12-10. North Mesquite won 70-60 in their recent league bout against Poteet (Mesquite, TX)

Next up, the Spartans play the Conrad Chargers (Dallas, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 bout, on Friday, January 19. Samuell will attempt to upgrade on its 15-6 season record. The Chargers come into the bout with a 12-12 record after their 60-47 league win over Adams (Dallas, TX).
