The Chaparral Cowboys basketball team (Las Vegas, NV), dropped 46-36 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Cimarron-Memorial Spartans (Las Vegas, NV)
The Spartans now possess a 4-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Legacy for a non-league battle on Friday, January 19. Cimarron-Memorial will confront a Longhorns team coming off a 65-46 non-league loss to Shadow Ridge (Las Vegas, NV). The Longhorns record now stands at 7-2.
The Cowboys (1-3) will now prepare for their battle against Western (Las Vegas, NV). The Warriors come into the non-league battle with a 0-0 record.
First Quarter
The Spartans opened the game pressuring Chaparral which lead to many turnovers. Cimarron Center Rashad Moore had 3 baskets early & his ball pressure on defense helped The Spartans get out to a 12 to2 Lead & they never looked back.
Second Quarter
In the 2nd Quarter the Spartans extended their lead when Mahshad Jordan & Jospeh Noel each had two baskets each & it was complimented by Waco Pedroza sneaking behind the Chaparral defense for a layup off of an inbounds pass. Cimarron outscored their opponent 11 to 9 for the Quarter taking a 23 to 11 lead into halftime.
Third Quarter
Rashad Moore & Erik Cabrera each has two buckets in the third & was complimented by a layup off the glass by Dante Roberson "The Kobe Stopper". The Spartans once again outscored Chaparral for the 3rd consecutive quarter & took a 36 to 21 lead into the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter
Joseph Noel & Mahshad Jordan each scored a layup & the Victory was sealed by four free throws by Guard Erik Cabrera Vega, & a deflection by Reggie Robinson as he chased down a Chaparral Player from behind & tipped the ball back into play for one of his teammates.
The Spartans force 37 Turnovers by Chaparral & had 27 Steals lead by Point Guard Mahshad Jordan's 12 Steals.
