Catalina Trojans (Tucson, AZ) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host San Miguel Vipers (Tucson, AZ), 45-26 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Catalina upgrades its record to 2-11 on the campaign. The Trojans host Safford (Safford, AZ) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A South bout on Saturday, January 20. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 5-11. Safford won 48-23 in their recent league bout against Empire (Tucson, AZ)

Next up, the Vipers play the Thatcher Eagles (Thatcher, AZ) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 18. San Miguel will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 6-10 record after their 60-32 league win over Tanque Verde (Tucson, AZ).
