Franklin Lions (Franklin, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Westwood Panthers (Palestine, TX), 71-34 in a league bout.

With the win, Franklin upgrades its record to 17-5 on the season. The Lions travel to Kerens (Kerens, TX) to clash with the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 18. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 1-16.

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Teague Lions (Teague, TX) in a 3A Region III District 20 bout, on Friday, January 19. Westwood will attempt to upgrade on its 8-17 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 14-12 record after their 64-31 league loss to Fairfield (Fairfield, TX).
