Weslaco Panthers (Weslaco, TX) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Hanna Golden Eagles (Brownsville, TX), 68-13 in a league bout.

With the win, Weslaco upgrades its record to 23-8 on the season. The Panthers travel to San Benito (San Benito, TX) to play the Greyhounds in a 6A Region IV District 32 bout on Friday, January 19. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a record of 20-7. San Benito won 54-40 in their recent league bout against Los Fresnos (Los Fresnos, TX)

Next up, the Golden Eagles play the Rivera Raiders (Brownsville, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 32 bout, on Friday, January 19. Hanna will attempt to upgrade on its 12-19 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 13-18 record after their 75-42 league loss to Harlingen (Harlingen, TX).
