Heavener Wolves (Heavener, OK) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Wister Wildcats (Wister, OK), 54-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Heavener upgrades its record to 6-7 on the season. The Wolves host Pocola (Pocola, OK) to play the Indians in a Black Diamond bout on Thursday, January 18. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 8-4. Pocola won 60-39 in their recent league bout against Wilburton (Wilburton, OK)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Cameron Yellow Jackets (Cameron, OK) in a Green Valley bout, on Friday, January 19. Wister will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 4-12 record after their 54-20 non-league loss to Poteau (Poteau, OK).
