North Carolina High School Basketball - Union Pines nudges Hoke County

Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Hoke County Bucks (Raeford, NC), 51-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Union Pines upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Vikings host Southern Lee (Sanford, NC) to clash with the Cavaliers in a 3A/4A Sandhills game on Friday, January 19. The Cavaliers enter the game with a record of 0-11. Southern Lee lost 62-22 in their recent league game against Hoke County (Raeford, NC)

With the defeat, Hoke County moves to 3-12 on the year. The Bucks travel to Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC) to face the Patriots in a 3A/4A Sandhills game on Friday, January 19. The Patriots enter the game with a record of 4-10. Pinecrest lost 57-43 in their recent league game against Scotland (Laurinburg, NC)
