Midway Panthers (Waco, TX) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Hutto Hippos (Hutto, TX), 53-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Midway upgrades its record to 16-11 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Harker Heights (Harker Heights, TX) to play the Knights in a 6A Region II District 12 bout on Friday, January 19. The Knights come into the bout with a record of 18-11. Harker Heights won 58-29 in their recent league bout against Weiss (Pflugerville, TX)

Next up, the Hippos play the Harker Heights Knights (Harker Heights, TX) in a 6A Region II District 12 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Hutto will attempt to upgrade on its 12-17 season record.
