The Jonesport-Beals Royals (Jonesport, ME) basketball nipped the visiting Shead Tigers (Eastport, ME), 43-36 in Wednesday's league test.
The Royals (7-4) will now prepare for their test against Deer Isle-Stonington (Deer Isle, ME). The Mariners go into the D North test with a 2-9 record. In their last test, Deer Isle-Stonington was tipped by Sumner (East Sullivan, ME), 56-24, in a non-league test.
The Tigers now own a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to Greenville for a non-league test on Saturday, January 20. Shead will encounter a Lakers squad coming off a 50-16 non-league loss to Schenck (East Millinocket, ME). The Lakers record now stands at 2-7.
