Pascagoula Panthers (Pascagoula, MS) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Long Beach Bearcats (Long Beach, MS), 44-26 in a league bout.

With the win, Pascagoula upgrades its record to 9-8 on the season. The Panthers travel to George County (Lucedale, MS) to clash with the Rebels in a 6A Region 4 bout on Friday, January 19. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 8-12.

Next up, the Bearcats clash with the West Harrison Hurricanes (Gulfport, MS) in a 6A Region 4 bout, on Friday, January 19. Long Beach will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a 10-10 record after their 47-44 league win over Picayune (Picayune, MS).
