Galena Pirates (Galena, IL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting East Dubuque Warriors (East Dubuque, IL), 33-28 in a league bout.

With the victory, Galena upgrades its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Stockton (Stockton, IL) to play the Blackhawks in a bout on Friday, January 19. The Blackhawks come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Warriors play the River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats (Hanover, IL) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 23. East Dubuque will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
