Bear River Bruins (Grass Valley, CA) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Wheatland Pirates (Wheatland, CA), 56-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Bear River upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Bruins travel to Marysville (Marysville, CA) to play the Indians in a bout on Friday, January 19. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 11-7. Marysville won 75-21 in their recent league bout against Lindhurst (Olivehurst, CA)

Next up, the Pirates play the Center Cougars (Antelope, CA) in a bout, on Friday, January 19. Wheatland will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 11-8 record after their 64-37 league loss to Twelve Bridges (Lincoln, CA).
