St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors (Downey, CA) fans were thrilled Wednesday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the host St. Paul Swordsmen (Santa Fe Springs, CA), 6-2 in a league challenge.

Next, the Warriors confront the Paraclete Spirits (Lancaster, CA) in a Camino Real challenge, on Friday, January 19. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy will attempt to better on its 10-3 season record. The Spirits enter the challenge with a 8-4 record after their 10-0 league win over Mary Star of the Sea (San Pedro, CA).

The Swordsmen now have a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they host St. Genevieve for a Camino Real challenge on Friday, January 19. St. Paul will confront a Valiants team coming off a 3-2 league loss to St. Anthony (Long Beach, CA). The Valiants record now stands at 2-7.
